This scenario was a little different from most beacon searches from the air -- the crew was given the grid adjoining the beacon and not allowed to enter the grid containing the beacon. This simulates a TFR or Restricted area, or weather over the incident. The crew was forced to triangulate from their grid, made especially difficult since they were flying 24N whose DF unit is inop. Photos of the location, as close as they could estimate given this difficult scenario.
