We meet our local instructors Andreas and Sebastian at the commercial Terminal, and go through regular airport Security (!). Then into the Air Adventure Flying Club's Land Rover to drive out to where the planes are tied down and hangared. Driving out on the commercial ramp to the AAFC area, at Subang airport (downtown KL) Driving past the big jets

Could be the same Firefly plane we took yesterday :-) GA planes and GA fuel truck. Only 3 airports in Malaysia have publicly-accessible fuel purchase for 100LL (others are privately owned or no fuel available). Air Adventure Flying Club's planes. Sebastian

Across the city, the limestone cliffs of Batu Caves. A lot of haze (verey high humidity) but still beautiful. This is about 10am. Later in the day clouds will develop and visibility will worsen.

Slightly left of center, the golden statue at the entrance to Batu Caves. Caves behind us to the right, Malaysia is very hilly! Steps to the left of the statue going up to Batu Caves are in shadow this time of day.

Ikea is everywhere. Tower won't let us land yet. We orbit... and orbit...

and orbit... for about 20 minutes. Tower lets jets takeoff and land and takeoff and land. We're having fun flying tho.. In the US, aircraft in the air circling would have priority over aircraft departing. Not here.

Really, we made 5 orbits, waited about 20 minutes. One of the differences here - departures are cleared for "line up and wait" and then they can wait... and wait... and wait.. while the single runway is occupied and nobody can land. No wonder learning to fly here is expensive and frustrating! We're just joyriding so we're ok with the delays. Beautiful scenery. Finally Andreas sees an opening between the departing jets and gets tower to let us land.

Post-flight debrief. A similar AAFC car brings fuel out to the planes (the regular fuel truck can be a 2-4 hour wait). Andreas our awesome host. Self-fueling.

Planes are going out again so parked right at the Skypark Terminal. Great logo, and Malaysian flag. Sri, chef extraordinaire at Raj's dad's house. Lunch from Sri - chicken curry, veggies, and papaya for dessert. After we're stuffed, Raj stops by a local place for more munchies. Raj is a great host!
