Ahhh, a lazy morning on Raj's balcony. Gorgeous views! First order of the day - cell phone sim cards. After that, m&m's. We'd never seen Banana m&m's! A mix of brown, dark yellow, light yellow. Not too bad, like banana flavored chocolate. Traffic is insane and this is middle of the afternoon, not even close to rush hour, on a Friday.

Scooters are everywhere, legally can go between cars, cars make room for them and mostly yield to them. Wild monkeys! Raj took us up to the top of a hill with temples (but we couldn't get in). Monkeys all around here. Interesting electrial wiring. Sue gets a picture of the city.

Sue's picture :-) Getting towards sunset. Feral dogs up here too, with pups. Monkeys preening each other. Monkeys eating fruit.

Saturday morning, Bob made breakfast. Awesome to hang out on Raj's balcony! Rain diversions down the hill next to the condo. When it rains here, it deluges! Steep hillside so rain culverts have steps in them. Raj and Bob as we head out to lunch.

More fun designs Welcome to the Kuala Lumpur Tower Another fun shaped building. Pretty little outdoor garden at the Tower. 100 year old Jelutong Tree, threatened species so the tower design was modified to help it survive.

Moo Cow frozen yogurt - with a full sized cow :-) George comments that Isetan is a Japanese dept store chain, he hadn't seen one outside Japan before. More M&M's This time Pineapple m&m's! We never see these in the US! Next, Raj drove us to Batu Caves. George comments "Quick Robin, to the Batu Caves" :-)

Bob showing his hair length at the "Shaving Bald and Ear Piercing" booth The head shaving is a huge deal for the Hindu faithful as this is a pilgrimage site for the yearly festival of Thaipusam. This family was kind enough to let us take pictures. Festival is next weekend so lots of booths being set up. This one has of all things, rubber chickens! 272 steep steps coming up!

Raj and Nancy walk us to the steps then go hang out, they've been up there many times. Sue, Raj, and Nancy looking up. Women may not have their knees exposed in the temple so sarong skirts are available for rent. More wild monkeys are everywhere here.

Sue at the Dark Caves entrance. From the top of the steps, Kuala Lumpur. Steps to the Dark Cave are to the right. Inside, many beautiful statues. Further inside, more steps up to a gorgeous bigger cavern, open to the sky.

From the inside looking back to the entrance. Couple hundred feet high, the cavern is open to the sky. What a beautiful place! Really is limestone, so there really are stalgtites hanging down. Some statues are huge, these are only life-size.

Unfortunately, in the farthest place inside, some asshats have added ugly graffiti :-( Heading back down the steep steps. This guy has animal control loop sticks and is trying to catch one of the agressive monkeys. Who needs 100RM to go up the Kuala Lumpur Tower when it was only I think 3 RM for this gorgeous view? Carrying boxes of water bottles up to the seller stalls up top. This guy has been up and down several times in just the few minutes we've been here.

Guy in white looks a lot like George, when George was younger ;-) Multiple guys hauling water up. same guy again Also guys hauling banana trees up. This guy stops to rest.

Look at the middle of the tree - really is a banana tree with bananas on it! Down at the bottom at one of the stalls, guy is shoveling coconuts into a bin. We then visited a supermarket and got a bunch of local fruit. Here, dragonfruit. Thai Longan about the size of large grapes. Peel the husky skin off, pull a large seed out, and they taste like a grape.

Water apple - tastes like a crispy pear Jack Fruit - peel it away from an inner seed and it's stinky but tasty sweet. Papaya too! Thanks Raj for slicing everything up! We had a young unripe coconut too...
