Are you tired of seeing the login banner every time that you log into the same computer systems day after day after day? Wouldn't it be nice to just log in and have your shell prompt appear? If so then perhaps you would like to quiet down the login screen. Place the following file in your login directory and no login banner will be printed.
touch .hushlogin
That is all there is to it. Sit back and enjoy the peace and quiet.
